Rimmel London New 'Brow This Way' Review, How To & Swatches

Hi guys,

Welcome back to Glossy Situations!

Today I am writing a review on the new collection from Rimmel London 'Brow This Way.'
Keep reading for swatches of the products, how I fill in my brows and a before and after photo.

Brow This Way- Brow styling kits. Left- Medium brown, Right- Dark brown.

BROW SCULPTING KIT

I have been trying out these new products for the last couple of weeks and I can say I am really liking them! There are two colours to choose from in the brow kits, Dark Brown and Medium Brown.

The consistency and pigmentation of the wax in the kits is great, not too slippery and not too dry. This makes it perfect to go from very naturally filled in brows to bold by building up the product. The kit also includes a double sided angled brush. One end is slightly stiffer (to apply the wax) and the other end is a bit softer to apply the powder. A small spoolie is also included so you can blend the product in better and brush the hairs upwards.

The first two swatches are the dark brown wax and powder, then the medium brown wax and powder.

BROW STYLING GEL

There are four different colours to choose from in the brow stying gel's. Dark Brown, Medium Brown, Blonde and clear.
As you can see from the swatches, the dark brown and the blonde are on the ashier side while the medium brown is a bit warmer.
These gels are perfect to wear on their own as they are very pigmented or over the wax and powder to make sure your brows stay in place. Keep in mind they do not have the strongest hold, but I find they still keep my brows neat without them feeling hard or crusty which I like.
Also because the gel's are so pigmented and a lot of product comes out on the brush I like to wipe a little bit off first or start in the middle of my brows to avoid getting to much product on the front of my brows.

HOW- TO / BEFORE & AFTER

Here are the steps I use when I fill in my brows with the Brow This Way kit and gel.

1. First of all I comb my brows upwards and outwards with the spoolie to get them into the shape that I want.

2. Using the angled brush I pick up some of the dark brown wax starting in top middle of my brow carefully drawing outwards toward the tail of my brow creating a soft outline on the top and bottom of my brow then filling in the middle, picking up more product as needed. I use whatever is left on the brush to very softly fill in the front of my brows to keep them looking more natural.

3. Next I use a little bit of the powder from the kit to go over the wax and set it in place.

4. Lastly, I use the dark brown styling gel to go over my brows and set them in place and I'm done!

So that brings us to the end of this weeks post, I hope you enjoyed it and you found it useful! :)
Let me know in the comments if you have tried this collection yet or what your favourite brow products are, I would love to know!

Makeup Geek Haul & Swatches

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to Glossy Situations! Thank you for checking out my new blog.
I am so excited to finally be blogging! I will be posting every second Monday evening.

Glossy Situations will mostly be about makeup and beauty with the occasional lifestyle and fashion posts here and there.
If you are looking to purchase some eyeshadows from Makeup Geek I hope this will be helpful to you and that you will enjoy my first blog post!

I have had my eyes on these eyeshadows for so long and I am so excited to have finally ordered some! I know there have been loads of people raving about Makeup Geek eyeshadows  and sometimes you don't know if a product is just being hyped up or if it's actually amazing but in this case they're actually amazing.

Oh, the excitement!
Postage and Delivery

If you live in Australia like I do, you know shipping from America can be pricey and take up to a couple of months to then get your order. After I placed my order I received a confirmation email straight away and another email the next business day with my United States Postal Service tracking number. I paid $45 for priority International mail which took 10 days to arrive.

Prices

The eyeshadow pans that I purchased are $5.99 each in US$ which is cheap considering how amazing the quality is.
Extra Large Black Z Palette $28.00 this fits 35 Makeup Geek eyeshadows.
Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencils $4.99 each
Red Cherry Lashes $2.50 a pair
Ardell lashes $3.99

Now onto the fun stuff...
Unboxing and taking photos!

Swatches and Close Ups

Top to Bottom
White Lies, Ice Queen, Vanilla Bean and Shimma Shimma

Vanilla Bean works so well in an everyday look. It is a perfect subtle brow and inner corner highlight.

Bling, Purely Naked, Hipster and Barcelona Beach

I love the colour Bling, it is so pigmented and shimmery. It looks great in the center of the lid to make your eyes pop.

Taupe Notch, Frappe, Brown Sugar and Country Girl

Frappe is the perfect mid toned warm brown.
Bada Bing, Burlesque, Mocha and Last Dance

I think Burlesque is my favourite out of all the shadows I ordered. It is just the perfect coppery plum shade. If you have blue or green eyes it just makes them look amazing!

I'm not the biggest fan of pink and reddish eyeshadows but I am excited to try these and I love the look of Marlena and Mango Tango.

How amazing does Chickadee and Gold Digger look?! I will be making some pictorials soon with these for you guys!

Peacock, Poison Ivy and Shark Bait

I love the colour Shark Bait (ohh ha ha)

I'm so in love with all these gorgeous blues! Especially Mermaid and Neptune.

The perfect match! Unexpected in the crease and Prom Night on the lid.

Galaxy, Graphite and Corrupt

I can't believe how crazy pigmented these colours are! Add in some 'White Lies' as a highlight and you have the perfect dramatic smokey eye.

Marlena (who started Makeup Geek) did such an amazing job on these I'm pretty sure I will have to make another order soon for some of the beautiful blushes and new foiled eyeshadows which are coming out soon!

Thank you so much for reading guys!
